I already had my Master’s in Healthcare Administration, but I ultimately decided that I wanted to make a career change. That’s why I decided to return to school for Medical Billing and Coding. My professors, staff and classmates all inspired me so much with their encouragement and motivation, and I’m so thankful for their help!
The Medical Billing and Coding program can be quite a challenge! Thankfully, even when I hit a rough patch, my professors and Herzing staff were always there to assist me and get me back on track. One major way they helped was by sending reminder emails that kept me updated on when assignments were due and when they needed to be completed. Having a constant reminder like that was such a big help.
I would say that all my courses prepared me for my career and taught me what to expect when getting started. It also takes a lot of time management and organization to be successful while studying, so keep that in mind.
If I had any advice to give future students, it would be to always engage with the materials your professors provide. They are there for a reason, and if you aren’t fully paying attention, you won’t be able to be successful in class.
Now that I’m a grad, I’m excited to say that I will begin working a job as a federal contractor in Medical Billing and Coding. The future is looking bright!
