I’ve been in the medical field for a while and wanted to transition into something where I didn't have to be so hands-on. During my search, several colleges and universities reached out, but there was a personal feel when I spoke with a recruiter at Herzing University. With that in mind, I decided to attend and I’m happy I did -- everyone at Herzing was great!
My experience wasn’t always the easiest. During my education, COVID-19 and some personal hardships came up, and thankfully, my instructors were understanding and patient during these situations. When crises came up, I knew that they would work with me while making sure I was within Herzing guidelines. Resources were available in every aspect of my education from academic counseling to personal life guidance. All of which helped contribute to my success.
All my ethics, office administration, physiology and medical terminology classes assisted me in reaching my career goals. It made me realize how much I could still learn when it came to medical care! Unfortunately, I did have to take a few of my classes twice, but I'm not ashamed of that. It was an opportunity to push me forward and work toward my dreams. It also really helped that everyone was so encouraging and made me realize how far I had could push myself. Eventually, I made it through and found my success!
Now that I’m a grad, I would like to keep pushing forward at my current job or become a trainer of some sort for insurance billing and coding positions. I gained so much knowledge that I’d love to be able to share with co-workers and different customers.
Even though life may throw you some curveballs, be sure to push until you're finished! I’m proof that it’s possible.
