I was an assistant manager for a large auto repair shop where I had been working for 20 years. I felt accomplished in my career but was then diagnosed with cancer and a disability. At that time, I felt done. My kids were all grown and out of the house and my husband was working long hours. I tried to think of something that I could do and then I found Herzing.
I didn't think I would make it, so I decided to get my diploma in medical billing, thinking that it would be easier than getting my associate degree. About halfway through my first semester, I started thinking "you can't do this," but I had a great support system. Everyone at Herzing believed in me and my kids encouraged me along with my teachers. I learned that even when you feel like you can't do this, you must keep pushing yourself to do it. You will be rewarded in the end!
Although it was sometimes hard to keep on schedule, I finally found the rhythm and studied my heart out! Now that I have completed my diploma, I would like to go for my associate degree in medical billing and coding. I know that I can accomplish this goal!
