I was drawn toward Herzing University since they were accredited and offered short course semesters. My decision to attend Herzing became definitive upon speaking with an admissions specialist, who listened to my concerns about completing my degree. He was wonderful and inspired me to finish what I had started.
Before beginning, I had already been working in my current position for 10 years, and healthcare insurance in general for a total of 20 years. During that time, I had been promoted to Senior Specialist in my department. My career had been excellent so far, but I wanted to get my degree so I could better myself even further.
Herzing helped me complete my studies by offering accelerated courses, even if I needed to study a bit harder at times. For example, math has always been a struggle for me, and my daughter-in-law tutored me so that I could achieve my goals. Thank you so much for that!
I plan to use what I have learned and my degree to continue in my professional journey and growth. The advice I would give to students pursuing a degree in Healthcare Administration would be to always complete their work! Communicate with your Instructors if you have issues understanding or if you need time completing assignments. They are here to help, but at the end of the day, it’s on you to do the work!
It wasn’t easy earning my degree, but totally worth it! I was also very surprised at how quickly I finished. I love this school so much that I'm considering earning my Medical Coding Certificate as well. Thank you Herzing for helping me achieve my goals!
