I never thought I was smart enough to go to college until I realized how much I really wanted to be a nurse. At that time, I was a 30-year-old going back to school and making a career change from real estate to nursing. I couldn't have been more terrified and excited at the same time.
Since day one at Herzing University, I have felt so unbelievably comfortable with my instructors. The small class sizes, tutors, the technology in the labs and the one-on-one time with instructors is what really sets Herzing apart from the other schools I considered.
Herzing set high, but realistic, expectations. Time management is what really helped me get through some of the craziest times of school. My classmates also helped me overcome the challenges of earning my degree. From the study sessions to the long clinical hours, we were there for each other through the tough times and celebrated our achievements together. We have all supported each other in some way through this journey.
My advice for others is to put yourself first. You will absolutely know who is supporting you 100 percent when you haven't seen your friends or family in two weeks because the only extra time you have is spent studying, sleeping or working. Get a calendar and write everything down and take it one day at a time. Relax and know you WILL get through this!
