I have always wanted to work in the health field because I have had people around me with health concerns. I saw that there were online courses that I could take at Herzing University that would meet my crazy lifestyle and help me achieve my career goals. I was a new mom at the time and I had to be able to balance it all.
I started pursuing my medical assisting degree the day I came out of the hospital from having my baby. Being a first-time mom and a student was a challenge, but everyone at Herzing was very understanding and was great to have on my team. They spaced out assignments so I could work on little things here and there, but still have them completed on time. The prep courses were a wonderful help in preparing me for my career. This year, I will be working in an emergency room as a medical assistant!
My advice to others who are interested in pursuing a degree is don’t wait. Herzing allows you flexibility and has a great team of professors and counselors ready to help you when you are stressed. Everyone has wonderful hearts and is 100% honest when they say they are here for you and want you to succeed!
