Attending Herzing University has been my dream – quite literally! I dreamt of graduating from Herzing two years ago while pursuing my RN program at another college. I decided to follow that dream and jumped on board as soon as I could!
In June 2022, I found out I was pregnant and carried the pregnancy throughout my schooling. By January, overwhelmed with fear, I almost gave up. It was then that I spoke with my academic advisor, who provided encouragement and reminded me that I could take a break if needed. I listened to the reassuring voice inside me, which I call The Holy Spirit, and decided to press on.
Herzing's flexibility and family-friendly schedule were game-changers for me. The well-organized eight-week semester program came at a reasonable cost, allowing me to balance family responsibilities without the need for full-time work.
Out of all my courses, the Community Health Nursing course left the most significant impact on me. I got to know my community even better, related with them and discovered help programs to assist those with healthcare needs.
To all pursuing their degree: one year flies by very fast! Put on your hats on patience, commitment, determination, and focus on your goal. Above all, don’t forget to keep pushing forward -- it's very easy to give up when you're close to the finish line. If I could do it, you can do it even better!
After graduation, I plan to search for a job and spend quality time with my family. I aspire to build the career of my dreams, specializing in midwifery. Herzing's degree program is rocks!
