My friend completed Herzing's Medical Assisting program and spoke highly of it. Hearing about their positive experience, coupled with the chance to work remotely in this field, motivated me to enroll in the same program.
The classes were fantastic! Zoom made online studies feel personal, and I received feedback to improve just like in traditional courses. The flexibility to work at my own pace was a pleasant surprise. It all came together in a program where I always knew what needed to be done, which kept me prepared to turn in all my work on time.
Managing full-time work, being a mother and going to school was certainly a challenge. Fortunately, my husband's unwavering support played a crucial role in my success. He cared for our six-year-old during specific times of the day, which allowed me to concentrate on my classes.
I think Medical Terminology and Anatomy were the most important courses I took. They taught me how important knowing specific medical terms and anatomy were to medical billing and coding. This was unexpected, and truly gave me a new understanding of the medical coding and billing profession. Without that course, the odds are I would make quite a lot of mistakes at my job!
Once graduation is over, I’m planning on locating a remote job. This will get me out of the factory I currently work in and allow me to attend all of my daughter’s events. I’m looking forward to that change.
As I reflect, I’d say I definitely found success – and only in about 14 months! If you’re doubting attending Herzing, don’t! Look into their programs and don’t let the fear of failing hold you back from success. It’s all worth it!
