Having been an LPN for a while, I knew I didn't want to stay at that level long-term. I needed to complete what I had started, which is why I chose to pursue my ASN at Herzing. The program offered a quicker path to completion compared to other schools in the area, and their high NCLEX pass rates were impressive.
Despite working full-time and facing minor health issues, I persevered through prayer and hard work. Nursing requires both compassion and resilience; stay true to your calling and don't let the challenges harden your heart.
To future students: if you ever waiver in your resilience, do your best to remember that this is an important profession and don’t harden your heart. This is an important career that helps so many people in their time of need.
As a grad, I earned a position at a local medical center in their orthopedic unit at night. I can’t wait to get started!
