I was inspired to become a registered nurse because I went through some health issues during high school. The nurses and doctors who cared for me, and continue to care for me, really inspired me to want to do the same for others. I decided to advance my career by earning my BSN at Herzing University.
Being able to earn my bachelor's degree while working as a registered nurse was a huge advantage, as was the fact that the entire RN-BSN program was online. It was a challenge managing a full-time job and new courses every eight weeks, but the classes were set up nicely, allowing me enough time to complete my assignments and projects.
I’m currently working as a registered nurse in a Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). I love being able to care for patients and families during their most vulnerable and scary times in their lives. It's a challenging career, but so very rewarding.
