I had already worked in the field of Cybersecurity when I decided to return to school at Herzing. I wanted to advance in my career, and I had a good push from my wife who was pursuing her own master’s degree! With her encouragement, I found the courage to further myself and go back to school.
Since Herzing was able to take all my transfer credits from my previous school, I was able to get my bachelor’s degree in just two years!
Though I was worried about taking classes online, I found it to be a great experience that helped me improve my time management skills. In the end, I found that I prefer online classes rather than in-person ones. This was a big surprise since I never took classes online before!
There were a bunch of courses I took during my time at Herzing that I didn’t have much experience in, such as the Python Programming Course. Python is such a powerful language to learn, so getting that skill was super important.
The biggest challenge I faced in earning my degree was time management. Between life, school and a full-time job, things can certainly get hectic! I overcame this by giving myself a homework schedule.
Getting a degree is something no one can take away from you, and it shows companies that you are a hard worker who figures out solutions to problems. I’m happy I decided to return to school at Herzing and can’t wait to apply my skills to my job!
