My children are my biggest inspiration; they inspired me to further my education. I knew that doing so would help me get me a better paying job so I could provide them the best life. I've always dreamed about making a difference in the justice system, and I believe that earning my degree in criminal justice will allow me to make a difference not only in my community, but in the world.
I faced a big challenge when I lost my father unexpectedly. The Herzing staff and my teachers helped me stay on top of my studies by being flexible and also comforting me during my time of need. Overall, Herzing helped me stay on track by giving me the proper tools I needed to study and complete my classes.
My next goal is to land a job working in the downtown Toledo area, preferably in juvenile or municipal court, where I can use my skills and education to contribute to the community. To any students who are pursuing a degree in the criminal justice field, the advice I have for you is to never give up!
You may give up in your mind a thousand times; you may cry tears, but the reward in the end is far greater than the tears you will shed. If I can do it, then you can too. No matter how rough the road may get, no matter how frustrated you may get, YOU CAN DO IT!
