One day at work, I passed by a Herzing advisor who was giving out information about the school. After talking with him about Herzing’s degree programs, I decided that I wanted to earn my MBA. I had always been interested in learning more about how a business is run.
Going to school helped me through the hardest year of my life. While at Herzing, I lost my cousin to suicide, my little sister to an overdose, my grandpa and my great uncle. My teachers were very supportive through all of this, and my advisor was amazing in helping me through these struggles.
I found the pace of my courses to be very reasonable. There is not too much of an overload when it comes to classwork. I found that if you read the syllabus fully and write down the assignments for each week, you will be able to get the work done a lot easier and meet all of your homework due dates. Also, take advantage of the tutoring and writing center if you are having trouble with writing your papers.
My next step is working with my career advisor to become an online teacher. I have always wanted to help teach others and I feel that I would be able to bring a lot of feedback and motivation to my students because I am now a two-time online college graduate myself.
My advice for others is to take your time. I work a full-time job and I also have a 10 year-old and an 11- year-old at home. I was able to find time for family and my schoolwork, and I maintained a 4.0 GPA all the way through my program, even after deaths of many loved ones. Herzing is an amazing school to go to, and the staff and faculty are very supportive.
