When I had called Herzing University to get more information about their program, Hannah Crawford, the Administrative Assistant that I spoke with, was beyond helpful. I was drawn in by the care and dedication that Hannah gave me as I shared with her my concerns. She always made sure to call and check on how I was doing. She helped me with anything that I had questions about, and if she didn’t have the answer, she’d always point me in the right direction. Thanks to her dedication, I felt comfortable getting started at Herzing.
There were so many challenges that were thrown my way while I earned my degree. I left an abusive relationship, was homeless, in between jobs, fought the COVID-19 pandemic, got a new house and was a single mother to two children during all of it. However, I overcame everything because I wanted to show my children, and myself, that hard work does pay off. You can be successful even at the hardest of times if you just keep pushing forward.
My son was a huge motivating factor for me to keep pushing. Since he had to attend summer school, we did our homework together. We both made it through, and it was a big stepping stone. It made me realize that my kids were truly watching, and I can make a difference.
Herzing helped me complete my studies by assisting with time management and pushing me to do my best. I found it surprising at how easy it was to get in contact with someone when I needed help. Even when they were busy, they still contacted me in a reasonable amount of time and helped me with what I needed. Whenever I didn’t think I could make it, I was told to keep working so that I would.
I’ve recently gotten a promotion to Team Lead at my current place of employment. As a graduate, I plan to start looking into other job opportunities that my degree will open doors to. I look forward to helping people with the knowledge that I have gained throughout my studies and life, and can’t wait to see what’s next!
