I wanted to do something that would make a difference but in a non-traditional way, so I decided to look into schools. I needed to go somewhere organized and diligent in its training. While searching, I found Herzing. Once I reached out and got in touch, I knew this was the school for me.
I had a great experience, and all the updates, emails and consistency within the program were a huge reason why. They provided useful tools like Canvas, and I found that classes like Professional Development were integral to overcoming my job interview anxiety.
Despite my great experience, I lost my son in the last semester. This took a toll on my mental health. I overcame it by telling myself that I’d fought my whole life for this moment. I had worked so hard, and I couldn’t give up now. I did a lot of praying and had some tears along the way and came out successful in the end.
Now that I’ve finished, I’ll be taking a job opportunity at the local Children's Facility in my area. Keep pushing and develop positive relationships with your peers and professors! You can and will make it.
