I had attended two other colleges in Ohio, and it was starting to seem like every step I took to move forward caused me to take ten steps backward. My outlook was beginning to turn negative when my mother recommended Herzing University to me.
She told me that I needed to find a school with teachers that will take the time to help me succeed. At first, I was skeptical that Herzing would help because I had begun to believe that I would never graduate from college. However, I decided to enroll, and the more I attended Herzing University, the more the school helped awaken my potential.
Honestly, I did not know what path I wanted to choose when I first found Herzing. After talking with their Admissions team during the enrollment process, Herzing helped inspire me to attend their Healthcare Administration program. Thank you, Herzing, for helping me find myself again and encouraging me to have a promising career as a Healthcare Manager!
I’d like to give a shout-out to Jennifer Reider and Ms. Kelly, as they were both helpful during my journey at Herzing University.
When I was seven months pregnant with my twins, the Wi-Fi at my house stopped working, and my final assignments were due. Jennifer let me stay late after school just to get my assignments done. A lot of Herzing’s faculty and staff helped support me during my pregnancy. If it weren’t for them, I don’t think I would be where I am today!
When it comes to studying, communication skills are everything! You should never be too embarrassed to talk with the staff about what is going on in your life. Herzing’s professors were very understanding whenever there was an issue with an assignment. All I had to do was communicate and explain my situation to get the help I needed. They understood that life throws many curveballs and unforeseen circumstances can jump out of nowhere. It was refreshing to get the help I needed!
Speaking of help, completing my internship provided an outlook and sneak peek into my future. Attending classes is one thing, but getting hands-on experience is really where the learning begins! This gave me the motivation to continue to move forward and climb the ladder of my career as a healthcare manager.
I always dreamed about graduating and walking the stage, but I never imagined that I would see the day. Herzing made it possible for me to succeed, and I’m even in the process of training as a Human Resources Manager at the same place I did my internship!
