I serve as an adjunct professor at Herzing and found myself motivated to pursue my APRN in Education. Dr. Marcelle, my dean, played a significant role in inspiring me, along with Jason Morgan, our campus president, who approved my request for tuition reimbursement.
My passion for education is endless, and given the chance, I would always participate in it in some way, shape, and/or form.
That being said, being an older student was something I had to take into account for my studies. I had to recognize that my energy levels today as an older adult aren’t at the same level they were when I was 30.
Despite that, there were surprising instances when I exceeded my expectations. I would sometimes review an assignment or project and think, "Did I write that? It sounds so scholarly!"
The lesson to take away here is this: never underestimate yourself. You can achieve anything you set your mind to, and don't ever let anyone rain on your parade!
