Family nurse practitioners are sorely needed nowadays, and I decided to help answer the call by attending Herzing. I wanted more than a beside nursing job, and I love helping patients, so this just seemed like the right fit for me. Thankfully, I was right!
Herzing’s eight-week semesters were so helpful, as I wanted a program that kept my attention while also not overstaying its welcome. That need was met perfectly here, and they are regionally accredited by the HLC – something that is very important.
Not only did the program go by quickly, but my courses proved incredibly helpful. Clinical Skills were a notable highlight, especially thanks to the amazing instructor that taught us. He was a PA from down south who held us to the highest of standards.
While classes went well, I still faced some challenges from time to time. I had COVID twice, cared for two kids at home, worked two jobs, worked on a COVID unit, and on top of all of that, I had to study. I was very busy, but Herzing’s flexibility kept me on the right path toward graduation, and eventually, I made it!
