I was referred to Herzing University by a trusted friend who recently graduated from the school and recommended their online programs. As a creative person with a previous degree in graphic design, I wanted to open up more career possibilities and learn more about business and tech.
For the longest time, I doubted myself and my ability to excel in academics. The online program bridged the gap and allowed me to learn in a comfortable environment at my leisure. This enabled me to focus all my attention on what matters: classes, lessons and educational building blocks. My courses allowed me to practice parts of tasks I needed to understand better, which ultimately enabled me to excel in Statistics!
Don't ever stop believing in yourself. If you get stuck, take a breath and reach out to the professors, as they want you to succeed! I almost gave up on my accounting class during the first week, but my professor reached out specifically to me and talked me down from my panic. The result was that I earned an A, as well as a lesson in pushing beyond my comfort zone.
Needless to say, I was able to overcome the mental challenge of doing the impossible and found my success!
Herzing’s lessons and assignments are structured so that students have ample time to complete their work. They were also valuable to my career! For example, our digital marketing research course helped me understand the use of statistical analysis in uncovering the actionable meaning of collected data and consumer psychology. This is important knowledge I will be utilizing in the future.
Chris Spangler, my career counselor, was very helpful in ensuring I was ready for the next steps after graduation. He walked me through the crucial steps employers look for in an applicant and verified my CV was written, formatted and presented properly. Of course, all the teachers were helpful, professional and were there to support us with our academic learning.
I'm currently working as a freelance marketer conducting SEO for various clients all over the U.S. My experience has been great, and I love what I do.
