Herzing University offered me the flexibility so that I could continue my education, work full-time and be a mom. When I first started my search, I spoke with an academic counselor and I told her my goals and vision for the future. She told me that I would make an excellent Healthcare Manager, and described everything about the career. I knew right away that this was an excellent path for me.
I can’t list one specific person who was the biggest help during my education because everyone at Herzing was excellent. From student services to my academic coach, professional development coach, professors and beyond, I had nothing but a great experience.
One main challenge I faced during my journey was dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. The pandemic caused my anxiety to spike which unfortunately led to me losing focus. Toward the end of my education, my grades began to reflect this. However, thanks to some amazing instructors, I found encouragement that really helped me to stay on task. I actually managed to finish a little sooner than I was projected, and was able to graduate a semester early! Herzing made it possible to work and continue my education throughout a really difficult time. It was challenging, but I did it!
My advice for students is to stay focused and utilize all resources available to them. Communicate with your instructors and ask questions, as they are there to help you. There is no such thing as a stupid question. Good luck and never give up! Herzing made it possible to work and continue my education, and I’m grateful for the experience and the knowledge I’ve gained while earning my degree.
