As an 18-year-old, I was unsure of what my next step in life should be. After hearing about Herzing, I set up an appointment to get more information. The friendly staff honestly made me feel welcome and like anything was possible. With their help, I found my inspiration to start my career path at Herzing.
I didn’t have internet access at my house, so every day I walked about 20 minutes to a Starbucks so I could complete my coursework. This is something I wouldn’t normally consider doing, but Jackie, a counselor at Herzing, was very supportive and helped me realize that it would all be worth it. That’s why I went on and pushed through because I knew that my future depended on it.
Herzing helped me complete my studies in a reasonable amount of time with great teachers to guide me. Some course experiences that were most valuable in preparing me for my career were the Medical Terminology courses and Classification of Disease courses.
The advice I have for students is to never limit themselves to just what they think they can do. When it comes to Medical Billing and Coding, practice, strong will and the ambition to succeed go a long way. Anything is possible and anyone can achieve their goals when they put the time and effort in. Never give up! Your future is bright and someday you will look back with a smile remembering how far you've come.
After I graduate, my next step is to get into either a hospital job or a physical therapy center near me. I can’t wait to get to work!
