I had attended nursing school before Herzing and dropped out due to illness, which led me into needing physical therapy. That’s when I discovered the world of physical rehabilitation and fell in love, eventually leading me down my current path.
When I was touring the Herzing University campus, the staff were helpful and wanted to make sure I had all my questions answered before deciding to enroll. This was quite a good first impression, so I moved forward into the program.
Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic created quite a challenge to overcome during my studies. I am a hands-on learner, so I had to adjust to learning online as best as I could. Luckily, Herzing University made the student's education a priority and my professors worked through the barrier to ensure we could still succeed. My professors worked hard to get us clinicals and are still working on it for other students, which is great.
Herzing also allowed me to take quick online classes throughout my studies, allowing me to complete them while still working my job. During my studies, the staff was always willing to help or direct me toward help. My professors, in particular – they’re the best!
I ended my clinical experience at an ICU. I was nervous but used what I learned and ended up loving where I was and getting to use my skills hands-on. I know that my clinicals will always stick with me and help me pass my certification exam.
I was surprised at how much I learned in the short time I spent at Herzing, and I’m currently studying to take my Certification exam. Once I pass, I will be applying to jobs that I’ve been looking into for a long time now that I finally have my degree!
