Everyone at Herzing University was supportive and played a role in helping me achieve my goals, from the admissions staff to the president. I have a story and relationship with almost everyone on campus. My instructors really encouraged me every day to succeed and inspired me to become the best nurse I could be.
All of my clinical experiences in the BSN program were extremely valuable. My final clinical rotation at an intensive treatment program for autistic and intellectually disabled patients had the greatest impact on me. I didn’t know I would fall in love with that community and now I feel even more passionate about pursuing a career in nursing.
My goal is to start working in a psych/behavioral health position until I’m ready to go to graduate school to become a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner (Psych NP).
My advice for other students is to keep going, no matter what obstacles present themselves along the way. It doesn’t matter if it takes 2 years or 20 – follow your dreams.
