Real Partnerships that Deliver Real Change

For 60 years, Herzing University has worked to bring together the best in education, business, healthcare, skills, and resources with a common goal of improving the communities in which we live. Here are just a few examples of how we approach community partnerships.

The Boys & Girls Club

Herzing recently applied and was awarded the Advancing a Healthier Wisconsin Endowment's (AHW) Seed Grants Award, marking the start of an impactful 2024 initiative to benefit the youth across Wisconsin communities. Through this funding opportunity, Herzing University partners with The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Milwaukee and the Medical College of Wisconsin to develop and oversee a comprehensive health and wellness program.

Goodwill Industries of America

We are proud of our ongoing partnership with Goodwill Industries to train Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) for the workforce. This unique partnership combines our innovative educational delivery with a pipeline of eager learners and places new CNAs into healthcare facilities severely impacted by workforce shortages. The CNA shortage is dire across the country, and we thank Goodwill Industries for their groundbreaking program to bring more entry-level healthcare workers to the markets that need them most.

Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities Initiative (WORC)

Herzing received a three-year, $1.5 million federal grant to help improve the education, training, and career support services for selected nursing and sterile processing program students in the New Orleans region. The Workforce Opportunity for Rural Communities Initiative (WORC) was awarded through the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission and the Delta Regional Authority.

We Love Making Connections

As a regionally accredited, non-profit university, Herzing is uniquely qualified to partner with businesses, government agencies, and other non-profit organizations to solve some of the country's most pressing workforce issues. We’d be honored to discuss your individual community needs and how we might be able to help.

Diversity & Inclusion at Herzing

Herzing University believes that if you want to improve access to quality healthcare for all communities, you need to change the face of who works in healthcare to more closely represent the community served.

In our most recent reporting year, 60% of students who graduated from a healthcare program at Herzing were minorities.
