Herzing-Orlando Unveils Belgrade Reader Sculpture

On Saturday, April 15, Herzing-Orlando joined members of the Serbian community and students from South Seminole Middle School for the official unveiling of the Belgrade Reader sculpture, donated by Serbian artist and former Herzing exchange student Milos Saric. The Belgrade Reader project, initiated in Serbia, strives to promote cultural exchange, readership and creativity among children of all ages. In October of last year, Herzing University sponsored Saric’s visit to Orlando. His work is the latest addition to the Lake Concord Sculpture Garden.

Herzing-Orlando Campus President Heather Antonacci and Business Program Chair Dr. Gordana Pesakovic were present at the unveiling, alongside the city commissioner of Casselberry, the president of Friends of the Park, MBA students from Herzing University and children from the St. Petka Serbian Orthodox Church in Longwood, FL. The unveiling of the Belgrade Reader kicked off the annual Casselberry IlluminART Spotlight on Sculpture walk, which showcases unique artistic expression in art, light and music.

“We are thrilled and honored to introduce this sculpture to our community,” Antonacci said. “We’re also very grateful for our partners at South Seminole Middle School and the City of Casselberry who helped make the Belgrade Reader program a success.”
