Herzing University-Atlanta Collects 1,700 Canned Goods for Holiday Can-A-Thon
Herzing University-Atlanta students are joining in the fight against hunger this holiday season. Students organized a food drive on campus to collect more than 1,700 canned goods for the 37th Annual 11Alive Holiday Can-A-Thon, which benefits local food pantries.
Nearly 800,000 people in metro-Atlanta and North Georgia are food insecure, including one in four children. Every year, local radio station 11Alive, Publix and The Salvation Army organize the Holiday Can-A-Thon to help those families in need. This year’s event resulted in the collection of more than 200,000 cans, which will be distributed to 13 Salvation Army locations in the metro-Atlanta area.
Way to go, students!
