A total of eight Herzing University - Madison students were honored at the 2012 American Advertising Federations’ ADDY AWARDS on February 25, 2012 at the University of Madison Union South, 1308 W. Dayton Street. Herzing University took one gold ADDY Award and seven silver ADDYs. Students, parents, and instructors attended the event.

The ADDY Awards are the advertising industry’s largest and most representative competition, attracting over 50,000 entries every year. The mission of the ADDY competition is to recognize and reward creative excellence in the art of advertising.

Conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF), the local ADDY® Awards are the first of a three-tier, national competition. Concurrently, all across the country, local entrants vie for recognition as the very best in their markets. At the second tier, local winners compete against other winners in one of 14 District competitions. District winners are then forwarded to the third tier, the national ADDY® Awards competition.

The American Advertising Federation (AAF), is headquartered in Washington, D.C., and represents 40,000 professionals in the advertising/design industry, 200 ad clubs across the country, 226 college chapters, 6,000 advertising/design students, and nearly 100 blue-chip corporate members leading the nations brands, according to their website.

“We’re thrilled for all of our students who performed extremely well,” said Chris Montagnino, Madison campus president. “This experience will most certainly help them prepare for success in their future careers.”
