Herzing University Employee Awarded Madison 40 Under 40 from InBusiness Magazine

Herzing University - Madison Career Development Specialist, Karen Smith, was awarded the prestigious business award from InBusiness Magazine: 40 Under 40. She was chosen for the award out of 120 applicants, showcasing her commitment to the business community in Madison.

Passionate about her involvement in the business community in order to support Madison area growth, Smith belongs to a variety of organizations, holding leadership positions in seven different groups including the Greater Madison Chamber of Commerce, Ad 2 Madison, American Advertising Federation, and Madison Metro Jaycees. “Receiving the 40 Under 40 award was great honor for all of my past involvement in the Madison business community,” Smith said. “I am excited to be recognized as an active young professional in the Madison community and look forward to continuing my involvement for years to come.”

Smith holds degrees in fine arts, psychology, and counseling from UW-Platteville and has been with Herzing University three years, connecting graduates to careers. Using her expertise and business connections, she has helped hundreds Herzing University graduates achieve their employment goals once their educational goals have been accomplished. Smith credits the support of Herzing University - Madison for her ability to be involved in so many organizations.

“In order to be so heavily involved in organizations, I needed support. Herzing University encouraged me to get involved in the community and supported me throughout my different roles in these groups,” Smith stated. The staff and faculty of Herzing University are proud to see Smith with this award.
