Room Dedication at Herzing-Kenosha

Herzing University Herzing University
Kenosha dedicated room

On Thursday, October 21, 2021, Herzing University Kenosha gathered to celebrate the official ribbon cutting of its new location at 5800 7th Ave., Kenosha, WI. It was at that time that the Robert L. Doherty Lifelong Learning Room was dedicated.

Colonel Robert L. Doherty, USA, Esq./CPA, was a lifelong friend of Herzing University founder Henry Herzing. Robert dedicated his life to education. He was an active-duty Army officer who served in Vietnam and was a tenured professor at The United States Military Academy at West Point, an Army Attache and a member of the U.S. Diplomatic Corps before becoming a professor at Florida State University (FSU). Robert was also a four-time summa cum laude graduate of FSU.

After his passing, the Doherty family donated his personal military memorabilia, including his uniform and flag, along with his diplomas to Herzing University. His memorabilia is now on display in Herzing University Kenosha’s new Robert L. Doherty Lifelong Learning Room.

Those in attendance at the dedication ceremony were Robert’s daughter, Brigitte Doherty; Henry Herzing; Herzing University President Renee Herzing and other Herzing family; Herzing University staff and faculty; Kenosha Mayor John Antaramian; and other guests.

Over the coming years, thousands of students will benefit from this room and the tremendous example of Robert Doherty’s lifelong love of learning.
