Herzing University’s new Tampa campus conducted its first community event, a blood drive on March 5. The school organized the event in partnership with OneBlood, a regional not-for-profit blood bank serving hospitals across Florida and neighboring states.

OneBlood parked its Big Red Bus® on campus, and Herzing invited students, faculty, staff and residents to donate blood at the mobile center. Each donor received a $10 eGift card, a free OneBlood Tie-Dye T-Shirt and a wellness check-up that included a COVID-19 antibody test.

“Herzing University is new to the Tampa Bay Area, and we’re excited to actively support and engage with our community,” said Michele D’Alessio, director of admissions at Herzing. “We’re looking forward to building relationships with other local healthcare organizations and hope to make OneBlood donations a semi-annual event that continues to grow as we do.”

Stay tuned for future blood drives and other community events at Herzing’s Tampa campus!
