Herzing Announces GivingTuesday Scholarship Recipients
For the third consecutive year, Herzing University is proud to announce the winners of its #GivingTuesday scholarship campaign. Students, prospective students and alumni were asked to complete an act of kindness – large or small – and include it in an online scholarship application.
More than 800 people participated in Herzing’s GivingTuesday campaign from Nov. 2-27. Submissions included good deeds such as shopping for and donating food to those affected by the pandemic; making and distributing face masks; assisting neighbors with tasks such as mowing their lawn; and volunteering at community shelters.
The university randomly selected two winners for $2,000 scholarships: Stephanie Schultz and Kaitlyn Wolfer. Stephanie, who is a student at Herzing’s Brookfield campus, collected food to donate to the staff at a local hospital working long hours to care for sick patients, including some being treated for COVID-19. Kaitlyn, a student at the Kenosha campus, made and packed meals for families in need with her rugby team.
The GivingTuesday scholarships are just part of the more than $10 million in scholarships and grants Herzing has provided to help students pursue their dreams, build careers and strengthen their communities.
GivingTuesday, which takes place the Tuesday after Thanksgiving every year, is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities.
