Located in the northwest suburbs of the Twin Cities, our Minneapolis Campus has prepared students for dynamic careers in technology, business, and the growing field of healthcare. Year in and year out, our graduates have exceeded the expectations of employers in the area and throughout the U.S. Our focused degree programs concentrate on skills necessary to succeed every day in the fields of technology, business, and healthcare.
The Minneapolis campus was formed from two schools, the Minneapolis Drafting School and the Lakeland Medical-Dental Academy. The Minneapolis Drafting School was founded in 1961 and established a reputation as a premier provider of highly-skilled drafters in the Twin Cities area. In June of 2000, it became part of Herzing University, which operates campuses in eight U.S. states plus an online division. In May of 2002, the Lakeland Medical-Dental Academy, a long-standing leader in allied health education in Minneapolis, became part of Herzing University - Minneapolis.
Herzing University in Minneapolis occupies a 25,000-square-foot building containing classrooms, computer, medical, and dental labs; library/resource center, student lounge, and administrative offices. Labs and classrooms are designed to facilitate the learning process with hands-on instruction. The average lecture class size is 25, and the average lab class size is from 6-30 students per instructor.
Message from the Campus President
Greetings, and welcome to the Minneapolis campus of Herzing University. It’s my privilege to serve as the President of our campus here in the northern suburb of Crystal, a campus with a rich heritage in the Twin Cities going back to the founding of the Lakeland Medical and Dental Academy in 1958. Since then we have provided career-focused education to thousands of students in diploma and degree programs with a focus on the knowledge and skills necessary for success.
I am also privileged to be working with an experienced team of faculty and staff who are dedicated to providing our students with only the very best in training. Our teachers combine academic preparation and real-world experience in the disciplines they teach, to provide students with just the right combination of theory and hands-on instruction.
Students are often surprised at what they find at Herzing University: An individualized approach to exploring their career choice in gaining admission to the University, small classes where instructors and staff know their names, demanding and confidence-building coursework, and people who truly care about their success. It probably comes as no surprise that Herzing students build strong and lasting bonds with their teachers and fellow classmates by the end of their programs.
If the above describes what you’re looking for in a college experience, then I hope you will consider Herzing University’s Minneapolis campus as your destination for an education that will last a lifetime.
