It takes more than skill to be a true professional. Organizations want employees who have a positive attitude and know how to carry themselves properly in a professional environment. They want people who are sincere in their concern for their coworkers and customers and who put in the effort to present themselves and the company well.
With that in mind, Herzing University has launched a new initiative, the P.R.I.C.E. of Success, to prepare students with the attributes that will help them be respected as professionals and advance in their careers. According to interview responses given by employers from a wide range of industries across the U.S., it’s these values and principles that make a candidate stand out.
In the P.R.I.C.E. of Success model, each letter stands for an important attribute new graduates should possess.
P = Professionalism: Conduct yourself with decorum, manners, and confidence. Remain accountable for your actions.
R = Respect: Everyone you encounter matters; treat them like VIPs.
I = Integrity: Be honest, and hold yourself to a high standard of morals and ethics.
C = Caring: Show concern for the wellbeing of your coworkers, customers, and the company.
E = Engagement: Make a positive contribution to the organization and people within it.
The P.R.I.C.E. of Success model has been integrated into every program curriculum, but it has not stopped there. Because this model is so powerful, it has also been adopted by the faculty, staff, and executives of Herzing University, becoming a core tenet of the University’s culture.
